Picture Pollllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Added 2017-02-05 21:57:26 +0000 UTCHey guys! I wanted to get feedback on pictures. I had a couple of different styles in mind and was wondering what you guys like the most. I'll provide the links, so just check em out, then vote. If you also have comments or suggestions as well, I'd be very open to hearing them.
1) Current Full Body Pictures: You can see the character's entire body. Like this one...

or this...

2) Portrait Style Pictures: You can see from the bust and up to the head. All characters will be positions relatively the same. ((like for example in rpg maker games)

***Keep in mind: I'm not saying I'll use stock images. Just the style that the pictures are presented***

2017-02-07 06:17:04 +0000 UTCAs far as the Equipment Viewer goes, the Character Viewer would be pasted on top of that, which would remove the Equipment Viewer's dark female and male images. ^_^ As far as NPC's go, I do think it would clutter the text to have the NPC's portrait appear every time they talk---so I may just reserve NPC pictures to full-body pictures and when we hit the 300 goal, I'll add in some variations to keep them all fresh.

2017-02-07 06:16:57 +0000 UTCBut it would be easy for me to do on a Tablet because the base layer would be the plain body/no hair/no transformations etc. Then each layer will just be a new look. Then I can add in hairstyles and eyes shapes too which won't be a big deal at all. Using a tablet and digital color will save me LOADS of drawing time. Right now I have to sketch, ink, erase, scan, fix minor errors, darken, share. With a graphic tablet it would be sketch, draw, share. It would save me about an hour per drawing and I could reuse old finished images and wouldn't have to redraw them over and over again which saves even more time.

2017-02-07 06:13:36 +0000 UTCYeah, I mean the Character Viewer is estimated to have about 256 variations right now. That's...just too complicated to do on paper because I'd have to match it up and it would waste a lot of paper. That's why I picked out a graphic designer tablet but I can't afford it yet. It's relatively cheap as far as they go but still a little out of my price range.

2017-02-07 06:09:51 +0000 UTCTbh I love the first time we meet npcs and set characters to have the full body or portrait. But if it's to view our npcs and equipment a layering system might be needed and it is a ton of work.

2017-02-06 18:17:20 +0000 UTCI'll look into it and see what I can do. ^_^ Maybe I can make the portrait image smaller or something.

2017-02-06 18:16:56 +0000 UTCThat would be great. I thought about inserting a portrait of Hannah (or any other character that speaks) above their speaking lines, but that would look incredibly clunky. For example, on pages that have more than one paragraph of dialogue there would be multiple postings of the character's portrait which would break the text up even further.. I do agree though. So when you look at the character you see a big full body but if they are talking in most senses you have a smaller portrait picture. I'll look into it.

2017-02-06 18:14:52 +0000 UTCI should be moving to digital art pretty soon for the Character Viewer and for the characters themselves. The issue right now is I don't have a tablet. But I already have a tablet picked out for what I need/ like and the paint program. ^_^

2017-02-06 18:10:16 +0000 UTCI'm going to have to second what Vincent said. Full-body is awesome for the equipment viewer and if you examine a person. Portraits are awesome for character interactions, in the dialogue. I'd love that combination, if it's possible!

2017-02-06 03:24:44 +0000 UTCfull body is nice, though portraits are better if you intend to display them in each interaction with any characters. full body should only display when you look or when you first meet someone

2017-02-06 02:22:10 +0000 UTCi like the idea of full body portraits, but it would have to be in a different art style, that pencil-drawn and shaded is not easy on the eyes
