Added 2022-02-24 07:48:01 +0000 UTCI'm actually in the process of weaving my third scrap rug - they're all made of old, broken bedsheets and clothes that couldn't be repaired. They're ugly and largely a tripping hazard more than anything, but it's an extremely cheap hobby and better than having the fabric rot in a landfill!

Those rugs look great. We accept old textiles for reuse and recycling where I work but this is an even better use for them. You're pretty much upcycling them.

The instructions are really good for how, but alsoextra how to think about them as art in a specific way. I'm making a blue and red one from old sheets right now and it's made it comparatively easy. YMMV of course.

Were you following any tutorial for scrap rugs? I'd love to learn that myself. I usually donate my old clothes but there are always some so old and torn that you couldn't donate and feel too guilty to just throw away!
