August Patron Poll Results

Okay, folks.  It’s the 7th, which means it’s time to end the Patron only Poll for August.  In other news, I have heard back from Tomon, and while he’s willing to brainstorm, he’s not in a place where he can promise to edit things. Which means I can move the Ranma poll down on my priority list.  Given that I hope Bhaalson Remodel wins the HP poll and how long formatting that fic takes, I will be making the Ranma poll the third priority this month. 

Which, yes, implies I will be putting up the HP poll today.  In fact, it should be up moments after you see this. 

So… with that out of the way, the results of the August PoP (Patron only Poll, and I can’t believe it took me so long to realize that abbreviation) are:

In last place, as, unfortunately, has begun to be all too predictable, is Heroes of the High Seas.  I had hoped that posting it on both fanfic and A03 would start to bring in new patrons, but while it has, I haven’t seen a single new Patron in months that donate more than a dollar, which means it’s still not garnering enough votes on it’s own to win without the carry over effect.  Here, it brought in only 741 votes. That wouldn’t have let it win even if the HP vote was split, man!

In second place, with a decent showing, is Climbing Together with a total of 1,293.  Pretty good, but without the HP poll being split, again a predictable result. 

Which of course leaves Death’s Avenger.  Even without the carry-over effect of 742, which would have completely negated my own votes of 600 (400 normally, 200 for not using them last month) for either of the other fics, it would have won, with a initial vote of 1,545.  The total of 2,287 is just overwhelming. 

I will remind everyone that I will be putting Death’s Avenger on hold for at least a month or so where it would otherwise be in the poll at the end of the current arc, which should occur in two or three chapters, counting this one.  At that point it will be time to do some world building type notes, make certain I have the magic system and its growth clear, and mark out some long term issues/factoids.  Given the complexity of the universe and the sheer amount of time I have to play with, I can’t continue to get by with just my normal abbreviated long term outline here. 

Regardless, I will start work on DA today, and I will aim to finish it by the 13th.  At that point, I will send it off to an editor, and we will see how fast I can get it posted here from there.
