August Patron Only Poll and a brief Announcement

Hey everyone! It’s the end of July, which means that it’s time to both bring the story choosing Ranma poll to an end, and post the August Patreon Only Poll.  I will also be posting the Ranma poll later in a few moments after you see this one. I… don’t know which one yet will have priority.  I want to reach out to Tomon and see if RL is in a better place right for him.  If not, then the Ranma story will be my third priority in August.

First will be a little gift for my HP/SW fans. I want to see if I can get up a few more bits for that HP/SW arc, bring it up to full chapter length quickly.

That being said, the winner of the poll to decide which fic will replace GDWHOM in the Ranma rotation was pretty obvious.  Journey Gone Astray.  Amusingly enough, there were a lot of honest folk who commented about wanting me to pursue the Kuroinu crossover, but still, Journey won this NUMBERS ONLY poll easily.  To clarify for my HP only readers: I put GDWHOM on hold because my DxD muse is sputtering right now.  I decided to husband it to restart work on FILFy Teacher in September.  We will see how that goes.

And now for the Patron Only Poll.  The choices are:

Climbing Together – Ranma/Street Fighter/King of Fighters crossover: A chance to win an all you can eat competition brings Ranma into semi-friendly conflict with a pair of martial artists who use Yin energy in a way that he and his lovers haven’t run into before and truly believe in the phrase ‘anything goes’. Later that same night, Mai becomes the target of yet another pair who use Yin energy, only this pair isn’t nearly as friendly, resulting in a drag out fight throughout the town that wrecks a shrine, much to the chagrin of the spirit within… and the people who have been praying there. This shock isn’t nearly the last, as the spirit in question throws Ranma into his Neko-Ken form, although calming him down proves astonishingly easy thanks to Shampoo and Mai’s relationship with him. After turning over the two antagonists to the authorities, turning down several offers, and helping to repair the damage, the trio are off once more. The next time they put into port is in the city of Zhanjiang, where they find a wrinkled prune waiting for them. Serious training talks are had, some information shared, and mistakes corrected before a blind stalker interrupts the proceedings. Shampoo, having had just about enough of this, deals with this issue in a truly Amazonian manner, during which Cologne convinces the group to stay and train with her for a time before heading not to the main city of Hainan, but to a smaller island, the better for further training.

Death’s Avenger – HP/Warcraft crossover: Tyrande Whisperwind runs into trouble on her voyage, discovering that the waters around Kalimdor hold more threats than just the leviathan that found itself on the wrong end of ‘Harry’s blade of poisonous doom’. This proves more of a problem for her enemies than her, but is soon followed by the problems of being on Northrend at all, and various arguments, while Harry and his little group continue their way south, following the shoreline, if at a distance, for now. While dealing with earthquakes by the simple expedient of being in the air, the group comes into conflict with still more harpies, monsters, and the first truly mean-spirited group of Tauren Harry has encountered yet, with Recca’s presence meaning that dialogue is not an option. After proving that magic is great for dealing with conflict resolution, the group continue, coming within sight of the source of Harry’s visions, and a conflict with the denizens of the area, who quickly prove to be a real threat to not just Harry, but also Versera. Quickly forced to retreat, Harry and his team of three find a place to rest and recover.

Heroes of the High Seas – My Hero Academia/One Piece crossover: Forced to leave behind their ship, Izuku and the rest, including Garp’s crew are forced to deal with Mei’s hatred of all things wind-powered. Garp comes to a few more conclusions, while formally taking Izuku and Kirishima under his wing.  Momo discovers in Garp’s second mate, who begins to teach her and Kyoka more about navigation, the stars, and controlling meatheads. The other teens find themselves, beyond their daily training, also learning more about the ship, about the navy, and life aboard a normal vessel, some of which they don’t particularly like. Garp pushes all of them harder than any bar Izuku have ever been pushed before, bearing in mind their injuries, causing some startling results from Kirishima and Jirou. Momo and Tsuyu are almost back to walking without pain by the time they reach the island where the Dead End Race occurs.  The teens get a quick and dirty lesson on both normal ship combat and ship combat Garp style, before going ashore.  After bringing order to the island, Izuku and Momo have an accidental romantic moment, Izuku and Melissa have a deliberate one, and Jirou decides enough is enough just in time for Garp to become her nemesis as the ship leaves once more for parts unknown.

Death’s Avenger will be getting a carry-over effect of 706,1/2 of it’s votes from the month before since its been back in the rotation for going on three months.

Hmmm… I will say now that I will probably not vote in this poll.  My preference would be to vote for Bhaalson Remodel.  But if it will win without my votes, or if it won’t even with them, I will throw my 600 votes (400 normally, 200 from not using my votes last month) to push for Heroes of the High Seas.  I think showing Garp’s training, the fact he’s actually got a good tactical brain on him for things like this, and the budding romance between all the growing pairings could be fun.  Even if the original MHA ended so stupidly, the characters are great.

This poll will end on the 6th.
