Jay's 2025 Retrospective

The end of the year is nigh, so I think it's time I put my thoughts down to what a year it's been.

First off, from a writing perspective, it's been great. I've written four of my own books this year with a fifth nearly done, did a short story every month, and have cowritten 3 books with a fourth that should be done early in the new year.

Warwitch in particular has been doing fantastic, Grimmwald 2 did well, and though Shotgun Sorcery stumbled it's doing alright now, despite the 'zon's best efforts. I've experimented with other media and made inroads in things I hope to develop fully in 2026 for patreon.

It's been tough to measure success year over year due to a variety of factors, but 2025 has been both challenging and rewarding. I've had big accomplishments in some fields, and elsewhere has felt like running a gauntlet while being beaten by sticks wielded by irate orangutans. Overall, however, I'm happy with how this year has turned out, and looking forward to what comes next, provided Amazon gets its act together.

Now, looking forward to 2026, my plan is pretty simple. First off is the wrapping up. I want to finish Grimmwald and Villain For Hire as series by the middle of the year, and finish up Warwitch some time later. Shotgun Sorcery will probably wait for later, and I plan to launch a new series I've been working on for a long time. I'd also like to do another collab series with Virgil Knightley, and maybe something else, but all that is still far in the future.

I also want to experiment with other things using Patreon, and work on a more serial series chapter by chapter. I have no intention of abandoning anything already patreon exclusive, such as the cyoa series or short stories, but instead want to do something a bit broader and related to harem. Unfortunately, I'm not very good at consistent quality chapter serial stories, and taking that kind of time and effort to write means changes elsewhere, so we'll see how things go.

In the end, 2025 has been a very good year for me, and I want to thank all of you for your continued support. I have no intention of slowing down as we enter 2026, and I look forward to bringing more content to you all with the new year.

Congratulations! Writing is definitely more of a marathon than a sprint, and you've kept at it fantastically. Hopefully whatever is going on with Amazon abates in time for everyone to hit the new year running. Best of luck wrapping up two very neat series, and again, congratulations on already having another collaboration planned. You two make quite a team! As always, wishing you the best and looking forward to your next project!

I hadn't planned on getting artwork of him done, but that's a fun idea. I should. As for the sequel thing, that's an interesting idea. I didn't think of that, but maybe I'll make that an option in the poll for the next cyoa.

Thanks for the amazing work! I have a couple of questions for you regarding some of the plans for the future. 1. Is there any artwork of Foundry planned for the full release? 2. While I get the nature of the story makes it difficult, do you think you'll ever do a sequel for one of your cyoas?
