This is the base set for this weeks maps. It includes high resolution day and night variants of every level. Higher tier patrons can get the complete set with additional variants HERE 

Background

This map will be featured in DMDaves ‘Hand of the Eight’ adventure book.

The Hand of the Eight is a Fifth Edition heroic fantasy adventure for three to five characters of 1st-level and takes characters all the way to 11th-level.

The characters start their questing careers in the small town of Haver. After a run-in with a deadly band of pirates, the heroes quickly become embroiled in a global conspiracy to hide the truth of the world's dark origins. The adventure features dangerous constructs, vile fiends, and powerful nations. It's got something for everyone, too, with dungeon delving, exploration, roleplaying, intrigue, and war.

The story includes enough content for you to run 50 or more sessions for your players.

Design Notes

Tower of Burshai 01 Entrance Hall

• 01 – Entrance Hall – Alien glyphs mark the floor and walls. Glowing turrets mounted on the walls seem like they might turn hostile.
• 02 – Information Repository – When approached the glowing panels glow purple. More of the alien glyphs cover their surface and images are somehow projected into the air. If only there were a way to translate it. Ramps lead up to 07
• 03 – Control Panels – Unrecognisable panels and buttons appear to have some control over the various lights and machines, but it is not clear exactly what they are intended for.
• 04 – Energy Coil – Some form of energy seems to be stored in these devices, sending it outward when needed.

Tower of Burshai 02 Cryo Pods

• 05 – Lift -This platform moves upward if the panel is correctly interacted with. Leads up to 10
• 06 – Carved Wall – Numerous pictograms and glyphs are carved into this monolithic wall. Do they tell the story of whoever built this tower?
• 07 – Cryo Pod Chamber – Numerous humanoid forms can be seen inside the pods, through a pinkish-purple haze. They seem to be drawing power form the large crystals outside.
• 08 – Terrace – Three large crystals are hooked up to some sort of mechanism.
• 09 – Energy Pylons – These glowing structures rotate at impossibly high speeds every few seconds, only to stop just as quickly.

Tower of Burshai 03 Laboratory

• 10 – Lift -This platform moves upward or downwards if the panel is correctly interacted with. Leads down to 5, or up to 14
• 11 – Lab – All sorts of odd technology is arranged around the room, centred around a slowly turning gyroscope made of purple light.
• 12 – Control Panel – The controls seem to affect the speed and rotation of the gyroscope. To what end is unclear.
• 13 -Support Beams – Provide support to the landing pad above.

Tower of Burshai 04 Landing Pad

• 14 – Lift -This platform moves upward or downwards if the panel is correctly interacted with. Leads down to 10, or up to 17
• 15 – Landing Pad – Seems to be designed for a particular craft.
• 16 – Runway – The short runway is lit at the end by two glowing purple lights.

Tower of Burshai 05 Lookout

• 17 – Lift -This platform moves upward or downwards if the panel is correctly interacted with. Leads down to 14, or up to 21
• 18 – Map Table – Carved from a single block of stone, this is a detailed map of the continent, as though seen from high above.
• 19 – Tableau – Features carvings of many of the prominent features of the landscape visible below, followed by text in an unknown language.
• 20 – Control Panel – Seems to be connected to the landing pad below in some way.

Tower of Burshai 06 Pylon

• 21 – Lift -This platform moves downwards if the panel is correctly interacted with. Leads down to 17
• 22 – Rooftop – More of the rotating pylons gently glow on either side of a large structure supporting a concave metal dish. Large crystals seem to be growing directly from it.
• 23 – Satellite Array – The dish seems powered down for now.
