You are right honestly - I know Blackman has done a lot of political commentary in the past, but he’s also the source of my issues really - and the main problem is not that he has specific views I don’t like, but because the earnest political commentary comes from just one person, and maybe also because the show has a general over the top energy, some pretty arguably stupid but nonetheless earnestly put forth political ideas go totally unchallenged. Some of them are pretty silly and it would be nice to see the made fun of on a show about making fun of shit.

What’s weird is when I look up the set list from that show it’s not listed but I distinctly remember them talking about the album and that being the only song I didn’t know when they played it. Unless I hallucinated this memory which is 100% possible.

The title track, and peer are absolute bangers and mia and sma are good too. It's very raw since it's their first album obviously but it's still very competent. I even asked Sam when I met them in 2017 if they ever planned on playing anything from that album again and he said maybe but they had no real plans to. :'( I understand Derrick's want to spread the gospel of chevelle. They're way too underrated for how good they are.

Hats off to the Bull isn’t bad it’s just where I noticed there weren’t as many amazing songs. Will say I forgot to mention the real first album (Point #1) isn’t worth checking at all imo lol. Maybe if someone also falls hard into Chevelle they could but really I can’t even remember a single song off that album

The way I recommend them to people is listen to all of Wonder What’s Next, This Type Of Thinking (Could Do Us In), Vena Sera, and Sci-fi Crimes. Then all the albums after that dip. Hats Off to the Bull: listen to only the title track, Face to the Floor, and Ruse. But after listening to the rest it’s still worth checking out. La Gárgola: Take Out the Gunman, Hunter Eats Hunter, One Ocean, and Twinge. The North Corridor: only listen to Door to Door Cannibals. Finally, Niratias: Piistol Star (Gravity Heals) and Endlessly, this album has a very experimental vibe and I generally like it I’m just not big on instrumental tracks but if the new album has this sound I won’t be mad. Too much to listen to? Follow the listened individual songs I already listed after these next ones. Wonder What’s Next: The Red, Send the Pain Below, Comfortable Liar, and Forfiet. TTOT(CDUI): Get Some, Still Running, Panic Prone, Tug-O-War. Vena Sera: AntiSaint, Straight Jacket Fashion, Saferwater, In Debt to the Earth. Finally again, Sci-if Crimes: Sleep Apnea, Jars, Roswell’s Spell, A New Momentum. This band has been in my top 3 for 10 years at this point. Not my favorite live band though but I say this as a Ghost fan who’s spoiled at this point. Hopefully this is a good jumping off point for someone. Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk
