I hear you on all those points, for sure. I'm the same in terms of the love of the franchise - but feeling tired all at the same time. I was not expecting much with this one, but was pleasantly surprised how much fun I had with it. And that's a GREAT idea for a mini-series. I'd watch the heck out of that. - Greg

Great reaction! i was gonna recommend this in the future but you guys got right on it 😉👍 It's sad to say, but I'm starting to get dino-fatigued. Jurassic Park was actually the first non-Disney movie I ever owned on VHS—my mom bought it for me when I was about 6 😄 I loved JP and The Lost World growing up, and I remember seeing the third one in the cinema. It was probably the first movie I ever saw by myself, or well, with a friend (without parents), in a cinema. Anyways, I enjoyed about 80% of this movie. Even though my expectations were at an all-time low after Dominion, I was positively surprised. I think it’s getting a lot of undeserved criticism. The casting was great, and the writing was better than the last four movies. However, the last act felt rushed, like they were trying to meet a deadline. There were big gaps in the timeline—where did the main group sleep on day one? They spend almost 24 hours on the island without anything happening? The main group didn’t really feel like they were in much danger except on a few select occasions. I didn’t care much for the hybrids. Can we please stop with those? The T-Rex scene is my favorite part of the movie, with the raptor scene a close second. I love how they messed with our expectations with the raptors—thinking Xavier was 100% a goner and that they had to run from the raptors, only for a hybrid to show up at the last second and push the raptors down the food chain. I totally agree with you, Greg: I clocked Dolores as the "toy of the movie" the instant I saw her. It’s never been so clear in a JP movie—it felt so Star Wars-y. My final score is 6.5 out of 10. Regardless of how much better this was than the last sequel, I’m having a hard time seeing what the next movie would be about. I guess we will find out. My hope is that they do an origin miniseries about Hammond and the creation of JP instead.
