It did leave me hungry for more, though now all of the men of Easy Company are gone. The last survivor, Bradford C. Freeman passed away July 3, 2022 at the age of 97. I don’t think he was depicted in the series, but he was a mortarman who served in 1st platoon in Normandy, the Netherlands and Bastogne. He was wounded outside Noville in the Battle of the Bulge. Winters said they stayed in contact through the years and that he thought Freeman would have made a fine officer, but the quiet Mississippian would always turn down offers of promotion.
