2025-08-09 13:54:54 +0000 UTCThe JAGs are crucial in a properly functioning military & have been there since Washington was president. They are supposed to enforce the laws of proper conduct within the military to make sure officers and soldiers conduct themselves within the confines of the law in all circumstances and engagements, in peace and wartime, in all environments where the military exists, internationally and domestically. The details were scant in the news, but a few months ago there was a hub-bub about Hegseth firing some JAGs because he mouthed off about how he thought they would try to to obstruct Trump's orders. Presumably, they were replaced with some form of MAGA loyalists. David French, the old school conservative opinion columnist at the NYTimes was a JAG. Was Tom Cruise a JAG in A Few Good Men?

2025-08-07 21:51:40 +0000 UTCLots of comments complaining about Michael being too horny in this ep, yet I'm the only one brave enough to admit he wasn't horny enough. Telling.

2025-08-07 17:05:35 +0000 UTCNot that it will happen but I wonder if the new definition of rebellion allows for new charges could be filed against any of the January 6th protestors? Like I said it won’t happen but I think it would be interesting if this broad definition for rebellion would necessarily extend to any existing criminal statutes?

2025-08-07 06:06:59 +0000 UTCThis is maybe the best podcast episode I’ve ever listened to. Profound, urgent, and bracing. Rhiannon, Michael, and Peter were speaking the truth and you can hear it in all three of their voices. It was genuinely moving to me. This podcast is always good but this episode sings. I think people will point to it in the future and say the case was definitively made here. A police state is not on the horizon it’s here. The Ernst Fraenkel normative state/prerogative state model is a clarion call. 🥹🙏
