After Hours: Gifts for the Gift Throne

As the holiday shopping season is upon us, I have come up with an idea for a new game: a miniatures skirmish game about families fighting each other for the best presents at big box stores and online retailer warehouses. We also review:

Song: Christmas Catalog by  幽霊, T O G E T H E R!

I really love this wargame idea it could be a lot of fun honestly with some good works on it.

I also feel a need to clarify something here, for folks who didn't read 3rd ed D&D stuff & the discussions around it: "Dungeonpunk" wasn't part of WotC's 3e marketing campaign, it was a derogatory term made up by grognards who were angry that the artwork in 3e wasn't yet another retread of 80's hair metal van art. Of course, the non-vanart style had been around since before 3e, but it's inclusion in the core books was a catalyst for a new wave of outrage.

Missed this earlier, but I'd love to hear a review as well. Ianus Games (now Dream Pod 9) did a bunch of licensed supplements for R. Talsorian in the early 90's. I have their Mekton stuff, but never got any of their Cyberpunk stuff.

Yeah, it's ironic to read Rick Priestley's comment that they deliberately injected humour into the first editons of Warhammer & 40K in response to a perception that people were taking wargaming too seriously. And thirty years later, we have GW fans & writers who refuse to believe that "the grim darkness of the far future" was satire.

back in the days when GW knew how to have fun with the setting.

And oh yes, the Slann! I have an old GW book with early concepts of the Slann, back when they had lobotamised human slaves, instead of lizardmen warriors: <a href="http://bryanharryrombough.tumblr.com/post/168344699248/old-games-workshop-slann-concepts-scanned-from" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://bryanharryrombough.tumblr.com/post/168344699248/old-games-workshop-slann-concepts-scanned-from</a>

Yo dawg, I heard you like mecha...

Dwenar makes another appearance. :D Man, that Judges Guild module is shaping up to be my best piece of gaming loot ever, and it wasn't even bought with real money! (bought it with a token I got for running a game at the convention)

Loving the vaporwave Christmas music. And the reference to Sting's winter album. I have many questions about the off-brand At the Mountains of Madness, especially how an off-brand Elder Thing is only CR 2. Aren't there shoggoths in D&D already as gibbering mouthers or whatever they're called? Is Aaron free of Time and Time again at last? I can only assume that your capitalism wargame will have a bunch of kickstarter exclusives and sharply limited production runs, to really reinforce the theme.

Ken Ringwald

I will ask if he has this. (Probably)

Tom, this one next please (Nights edge. Vampires in Cyberpunk 2020) <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sLQ6og__S4w/UekV3PySVQI/AAAAAAAAuPU/wsUSzSaELYY/s1600/Cyberpunk+Nights+Edge.JPG" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sLQ6og__S4w/UekV3PySVQI/AAAAAAAAuPU/wsUSzSaELYY/s1600/Cyberpunk+Nights+Edge.JPG</a>

Wow, I played Cyberpunk with Maximum Metal, it was crazy and we lost a lot of characters. I remember one of the popular suits of power armour had a missile reload inside its arm armour, we had so many of them blow up and kill people that we would call shots to that arm.

Ross! I got a copy of Ameythst the 4e D&D supplement that adds in Cyberpunk! And I got some pdfs of the Witchfire Triology for after hours that I can send your way when we have a moment. That is all

DiploRaptor(Samuel)

C'mon Tom, messing with the PC's is putting a full-borg INSIDE a power armor suit.
