Poll: Next Palladium Poisoning book to review?

If you have listened to the latest Palladium Poisoning, you should know that we are going to let you, the listener, decide what we should review next. Palladium has put out a LOT of books so we can't include them all, but here's a choice sampling.

In the comments, please let us know if you want us to restart WoD The Heck, continue with Palladium Poisoning, or focus on another game line!

I feel like there's so much more to be covered from oWoD that I wouldn't mind seeing them revisit it. But if you wanted to do something different...what about TORG?

Eric McNaughton

Rifts Africa is winning by a long shot, so we will definitely do that next. I think after that, we will do one more Palladium Poisoning episode and then switch back to WoD for 2018!

Ross Payton

WoD the Heck was a Blast, I'd like to see more.

Al Dente Rigamortis

WoD the Heck was just wonderful to listen to. Please bing it back.

Aakhsm

I like both Palladium Poisoning and WoD the Heck, so do both! Yaaaaaaaay, content!

Sarah Legeza

I liked WoD the Heck more.

Robert Arndt

I did really like WoD the Heck. I don’t know what to suggest for another series that would have the depths that WoD or Rifts. DnD isn’t really as fun as either in terms of “why did you do that?” moments. Outside of the Warhammer series’ I don’t think there’s much to sustain a show.

A FakeLastName

As for where you begin, there must be some books designed to introduce you to the setting as more than just a backdrop for wargaming with heavy metal album covers. Rogue Trader sets up the players as the closest thing to murder hobos in this universe, but Dark Heresy was actually the first 40K RPG and focuses specifically on the nightmare that is policing the Imperium of Man.

Jane Wayland

I'm enjoying Palladium Poisoning, but also had fun with WoD The Heck. So I'm fine with switching back, especially if you're getting tired of Palladium.

Bryan Rombough

Much more of a spread in the votes than I thought it was

Daniel Whitmer

I would very much like it if you brought back Wod the Heck. Palladium is just as crazy... But WOD was my rpg drug of choice in my teens so I prefer that :)

Sebastian Lindeberg

Seconded!

Gary R

The cover of RIFTS Australia features a dude riding a giant kangaroo. My vote is clear.

Darth

That is reason enough to vote for it. People being uncomfortable almost always makes for good comedy.

Darth

Which is why I voted for it. SOooo much cringe.

McKinney

Africa is basically Rifts: blackface from what I've heard

Eric McNaughton

I for one believe there will be a tactful and considered treatment of the indigenous people.

Stephen O

Oh, great idea. Reboot regardless is my vote, but this specifically is now part of it :D.

Stephen O

I'm sure it's really silly and inaccurate like most Media about Australia produced by people not from here. -R

Ray Cox

I know! I *so* want to hear what the RIFTS folks had to say about Oz :)

Grant McHerron

Rifts Australia? Dear God

Maddy Gibbons

Man, where do you even begin with that?

Ross Payton

Have you considered going through all the fun R. Talsorian books for Cyberpunk 2013 and 2020? Imagine all the fun retro-visions of bleeding edge future tech.

Oren Geshuri

Shit, thats a good idea

Ross Payton

Voting for Nightbane, because it was written by C. J. Carella and is one of the few Palladium books I own. Carella wrote a bunch of stuff for Eden studios, including the Buffy the Vampire Slayer rpg, which was the first game I saw using "fate-moxie-will"* as I think you call it. *it's called "Drama Points" in Buffy.

Bryan Rombough

I don't think I'll ever get tired of hearing about the insanity of Rifts, but if you're considering switching to another franchise I think the Warhammer 40K RPGs have some material to work with. I'm totally in Caleb's camp on the hilariously grimdark setting and would love to hear it get riffed on even if the mechanics work just fine. You could probably have fun with the goofiness of Shadowrun or Exalted too, but 40K is my preferred pick.

Jane Wayland

Well individual games are better suited for after hours. This series is more of a deep dive in a single game line- i.e. multiple supplements, to really get at the weirdness of the game.

Ross Payton

I also looked into this a while back: https://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/Worst_RPGs_ever

Brownie Davis

If you guys can think of a game series that would be as interesting as WoD and Pallidum I'd love to hear about those but the only one I can think of is Gurps.
