A Look Back at 2021

Hey guys! Alex here! How have you been? Have you all been well?

I just wanted to write a little something for you all because what a YEAR this has been, right? And oh man, did it go by fast! In just a day, it'll be 2022, and I don't know whether I am excited, scared, or just indifferent to it all. But 2021 was an okay year for me, and this Patreon REALLY (and I mean it) helped me through it and kept me sane through it all.

As you all know, writing isn't my full-time job; I also work a full-time job from 9-6 Mon-Fri. My job is hell and is taking a lot out of me every day, but I do my best to get my rest in where I can. Writing content here is a good escape, good fun for me to do, and I really enjoy it. But I would be lying if I said it wasn't tiring at times, too. I've missed my usual posting schedule by a few hours countless times, and I've even missed it by days some. The reason behind these delays is my full-time job and sometimes procrastination. I'm managing my time for work better. I am deeply sorry if I disappointed any of you with the quality of the writing that may have dropped when I rushed a story out. I will do better.

However, every story I planned for this year was posted, and I have to say that I am proud of the work I put in. A total of 59 stories this year. Fifty-fucking-NINE. I had to go back and count them to be sure. I can't believe how many that is. Your response to every one of them has been a crucial driving force for me to improve and keep delivering even better stories into 2022. So, thank you all.

2021 has been incredible in terms of growth on my Patreon, too. We crossed multiple milestones; $700 a month, $800, $900, and $1000! I am forever grateful to every single one of you who has supported me, even ones who have stopped. It really helps me a ton, not only financially, but my confidence in writing has gone up, too. I NEVER thought in my life that my work was any good, let alone good enough for it to be paid content. So, again, from the bottom of my striped cat heart, thank you all so so very much.
