SYM 01-02 DE : It really is the little things!

It's time for the first exhaustive new preview for SYM's DE. 

As you all know this will cover the final year and change of the WWF.

With the entire game being fully restored with WWF Superstars, Attires,Arenas,Belts, Music, Titantrons, WWF logos, Official PPV Sponsors, Branded beers, soft drinks & even extra movies, while trying to keep the balances of looking like an official game spanning 4 different versions for attires (5 if you're a long time patreon that maintained their pledge, when I previewed the extra release from rr01 to x7) 

Which pretty much led me down an insane path from the time I started this but so far I couldn't be happier with the results.

So whats new in this preview? Well lets break it down row by row =)

Row 1 There's a few new previewed attires as well as your first look at the WWF'd KOTR trophy (there will be 2 vers of this one with the logo placement at the bottom just like the official 2001 trophy and the one you see in the image trying bet to replicate what it would look like if yukes kept the WWF logo. 

The next glaringly obvious update is the Theater mode features 3 new movies. This was a feature I loved in jbi and sym and wanted to really combine what I thought was great about both. 

Season mode : Getting the last photo out the way as a reminder that all PPV's have their correct sponsors in the menu and in the arena if it was present.  Ok After months of playing around with season mode I finally have got it to where almost everything I wanted from the mode is now possible, For starters in the ver the WWF championship ha just the WWF logo here with no mention of an undisputed title in sight! 

Secondly the draft announcement stage has a much more realistic feel using new WWF textures and photos,I did have one of the actual photos and the black WWF logo used for the episode but did not have the kurt summerslam 2000 photo so I went with this custom design because I though it looked very true to yukes and captures that early 2000's video game feel.

The next 2  is something I wanted the day the game released the option to have Ric Flair and Vince McMahon Playable and Draft-able in season, I always thought yukes made such a great Ric Flair model to not be able to use him is season was a waste well now you can and yes you can go into season entry and turn both of them off if you dont want this! Also after unlocking their attires in season mode, Hulk Hogan, X-pac, Kevin Nash, Triple H and HBK are all Draft-able in season every time you start a new one, yes you will still get the story cut scenes with them in but they will be present on the roster all year round. 

Moving on to row 3 We're Live at WWF New York!

WWF New York has been full restored both inside and out with some stuff most people wouldnt even notice. Starting with the outside all WWF logos are back all across Times Square Complete with the glizty bright text in the middle. Not the mention the PPV poster board highlighting the official WMX8 ad for most of the year as during the with everything changes with Winter themed WWF logos and Vengeance being the poster board for a happy holiday. 

As we head inside and look at the rest of the images is where it get a bit mad, First off you'll see the official advert for Smackdown shut your mouth that said releasing winter 02, this ad was so troublesome to find online I actually dug out my physical copy of the ad and scanned it  then made it into a texture for game! You'll also notice that the WWF logo is scattered across the carpet, as well as several official PPV posters like Unforgiven 01, No Mercy 01 and No Way Out 02.  Now heres a lil thing I love, if you look at the last image if you look closely and I mean very very closely on the second row of TV screens is the actual TV screen cap of the results of the WWF's first ever draft! It looks like the people are checking it out. Madness!

Now if we get back to the arena, heres something you might miss but theres new merchandise at the stands, What? That's right when the game first came out while he was left in the game a few instances of Stone Cold were toned down lets say. He actually never had any shirts at the stand for sale. Until now the What? Shirt is back on sale and their are piles of them, theres even ad's for the What? Vhs and DVD in other parts of the arena. Thats not all the Wrestlemania X8 Magazine now uses the correct official cover complete with WWF logos. When walking about even the foam hands now dawn the WWF scratch logo. 

Moving to the locker room you'll see more of the same the WWF banner flag is now restored and instead of  generic Rock & hogan posters SummerSlam and Survivor Series 01's official posters take their place. 

Fun fact : All 14 PPV posters can now be seen through out different areas of the game. 

Sunday night heat reverts back to the Smackdown fist arena as it was pre draft throughout 2001 and even has the post 9/11 flowing American Flag as its minitron. 

And Lastly just to confirm again yes almost every wrestler in the game has 3 attires.
