Misery POV Stomp Test
Added 2017-10-13 20:11:50 +0000 UTCI've used a lot of different techniques over the years to try and bring the story of FantaSize 2 to life. Sometimes I'm even inspired by other animations. This was one such time when I tried out a more basic approach to a POV stepping on scene.
Obviously this appears pretty lifeless compared to today's standards that I've been working with. I'd considered switching from traditional animation to a more simplistic style like this, but I just couldn't justify taking so long to make the animation and then having it turn out relatively basic.
What do you think of the animation above?

2017-10-15 19:12:08 +0000 UTCI agree about where you're coming from with how lifeless it feels. I really just like the after effect of when her foot hits the screen. I don't feel anything at all from Misery. I loved FS because the characters were doing something either it being them just chewing or blinking some more movement seemed to always take place on top of the main focus. To be honest I think I'd be destroyed if I saw FS2 end up this simplistic XD

2017-10-13 20:53:01 +0000 UTCI think this style is fine for small pieces or Patreon rewards, but your overall assessment is correct: it wouldn’t work out for a full film you’d charge for. Not to say that it isn’t enjoyable in its own right, of course.
