Listen. I’m a weeb, okay, but I come by it honestly. Asian culture is so prevalent in Hawai’i that you absorb and celebrate it daily, and I’m so glad that it’s part of my everyday life. I especially love koinobori (the koi kite) and daruma dolls (the head). I have a sweet story about a daruma — my sister gave my mother a daruma, which usually come with blank eyes. You paint one in and make a wish, a goal. When you reach that goal, you paint the other eye in. My mom’s goal was to hold her grandbaby, my son, which she did, and enjoyed a year with him before she passed away. That daruma is very special to me.
What would your goal be?
This and all other available coloring pages can be found in your Google Drive folder (scroll back a bit on the main page on my Patreon for the link). Feel free to post your coloring online, and I’d love a tag so I can see!
