I think my favorite thing that I've learned about the battle (other than a bunch of genociding dickheads getting owned) was that there was a sharpshooter clapping Reno/Benteen soldiers after they dug in from 600 yards away with a 50 cal sharps rifle. They think it was probably a fur trapper who married into the tribes because the warriors usually didn't fight like that.

But whatever your education, the British Empire receives very little critical examination if at all. Its as if the map turned pink one day. Then there's no discussion about the awful things we did. The official narrative is that there were isolated bad things that happened, but we were one of the good guys. That the British Empire brought civilisation and the modern world to backwards people and helped the natives etc. British people are very proud of it, despite not knowing how it came to exist. Its as if the Raj just happened to become British by the grace of God.
