Crane Games and Other Arcade Novelties

Woah, something new! And I'm actually not in my house!

I think I mentioned last post that I was cooking up an idea that was a bit different than my usual, and here it is! Arcade videos aren't anything new on YouTube but I'm hoping this one still retains that brutalmoose feel and sets it apart from the rest, kind of like my take on food videos.

This video was a lot of fun to make. Like, a lot a lot. This is the first video in a while that didn't feel like work to me, which is actually a pretty big deal. It makes me feel inspired to just have fun with something. I mentioned it in the comments section of the video, but I'm starting to feel a little stuck in my usual formats. As much as change scares me, I'm the kind of guy who needs to shake things up every now and again or they get stale, so I really need to stop being afraid of trying out new things.

I really want to try making videos on anything that I'm interested in at the time, even if it's not a typical video topic. I go through a lot of phases when it comes to my hobbies, and right now I'm on an arcade kick. So.. arcade video! It's kind of like when I did that Mall Madness review, I was on a bit of a board game kick at the time and just had a blast working on that video.

I feel like part of the YouTube cycle - at least for me - is realizing that chasing clicks isn't fun or very fulfilling for long. Food videos have been my bread and butter (har har) for a little while, but I must admit that they're feeling a little stale (a-har har) to make at the moment. I need more variety, I need to step away from topicsI'm bored with until they excite me again, and I need to have fun doing what I love to do!

So let me know what you thought about this video! Good or bad, I am open to all feedback. I really want to do another one of these because I learned a lot about filming out and about, and I know I could do a better job the 2nd time around. I would also bring a better quality camera lmfao.

Thanks so much for the support everyone! Hope you've all been doing well, and I hope you enjoy the videos this month! I'm actually shooting for 2 more uploads in May - a game review and some other video I haven't decided on. So keep an eye out!

Thanks everybody!

This was actually a lot of fun, and it's always fun to try something new. This something new definitely didn't disappoint! Oddly enough, this reminded me of the small arcade inside the movie theaters and, overall, this was just a lot of fun and a joy to watch

I liked this, it felt like a field trip

I loved this video so much!! I think your style of video is perfect for this kind of thing, and I'm just a sucker for watching people play crane games lol!! I'd love to see more of this kind of thing!

I don't think I'd enjoy those videos as the channel's primary videos, but the reason I watch and support you isn't for the games, the food or the content itself, but it's either for the general look and feel (with Televoid and Brutalfoods) or for the soothing personality (music and voice, with, for example, this one). Basically, I wouldn't have clicked if the channel didn't say "Brutalmoose". However, I would click again on the next one, it was very chill and I liked it!

This was a pretty fun video! I was kinda skeptical at first but, over time, your good ol' relaxed attitude won me over with each passing game you couldn't win anything at. It actually reminded me of early April when I was in Japan and tried out some arcades in Akihabara. Those things are mega-unfair, the crane games need to have a better grip for it to work at all! And, no joke, there was an employee running around who, when a client tried and failed to get something for a certain amount of times, would just open the game case manually and let the customer pick their prize! I don't know if she was supposed to do that but it was like she knew that the whole thing was rigged! XD Anyway, wouldn't be against more vids like this at all, though I do think your next project maybe should be a movie review or something, feels like it's been a while since we've had one of those.

I personally really liked it! I mean, its just fun to watch someone do something they're enjoying. Definitely keep chasing your interests and passions, you'll have a better time and probably make better content in the long run. Don't burn yourself out!

As odd and unusual as this is, it was a blast to watch. I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff like this in the future

I enjoyed this video. I definitely encourage you to visit whichever topics you are feeling at the moment. I'm confident that, whatever subject you tackle, you will put that fun brutal moose spin on it.

Hi there Ian. Just commented on this video on YouTube, then remembered I am a patron as well. I would actually love to see you do similar videos of more arcades, or even reviews of specific arcade computer games, which is not something you see very often. I like most things you do though. I was HIGHLY sceptical of any video of yours that wasn't about video games, since that was why I got "into you" to begin with, but your editing style, brand of humour and likeable personality sells just about anything. Nowadays, I think your "Brutalfoods" videos are actually my favorite. Hope you have a great spring!

That was a blast to watch. You having fun is always so infectious and arcades have a special place in my heart. The photo booth at the end make me laugh because i recall our local mall having the exact same one, though my friends and I never tried it. Probably for the best. Seriously though, shake things up! Show us your passions, the things that make you excited and happy to work on. You having fun is what I like to watch best. I won't deny I really like the food videos, but I'm not going to up and vanish if they slow or stop. My partner and I love watching your videos together and I don't see that ever stopping.

The Ferret

It definitely feels like you had a lot of fun making this video. I love seeing different themes on your channel.

That was pretty great! You managed to include all the fun of the arcade while also excluding the associated noise, which made for a relaxing video. I'm glad to see you trying new things for videos, too.

November Delta

I want to emphasize that I'm really excited to watch videos which are anything you are interested about at the time.
