Hey guys! Been a little while, but it's time for some more behind the scenes content!
My live action scenes in the Pajama Sam video took a lot of work. Planning out the shots, filming everything, stitching it all together, color correcting... It was an effort! Planning ahead was key for doing this - knowing which Ian needed to be where, which scenes needed to be filmed at the same time, etc. I filmed almost every shot during the same night (I filmed at night so I wouldn't have to worry about the sun affecting the lighting). Everything except the actual intro to the game at my desk and Joe's shot was filmed during one night.
I've thrown together a few .gifs of the process! You can see the individual shots, how I cropped the shot, any zooming in I did in post, as well as the color correction I did (all of which was done in Premiere). All of the color correction was done using Premiere CC's Lumetri Color effect. It's such a powerful tool and I really love how the colors came out (especially how the red of my shoes/cape stand out).
I also included a WIP of the storyboard I made to organize the shots. I took pictures of the views I knew I needed to get, paired up the lines with the shot, and that's how I stayed clear on what lines I needed to do and when. I also highlighted each character's lines with a different color to make it easier to find the correct lines. Unfortunately I must have deleted the final storyboard, but I included the WIP I found, because it gives you a solid idea of how the finished one looked.
I really like how the scenes turned out, and I hope you guys did too!
Thanks so much for the continued support!
