What went right? - Lula 3D

Lula 3D was the first game I tried out a new writing technique on. Instead of playing all of the game that I planned to play and then writing the script, I played the game in smaller chunks and wrote over each section before playing some more. I learned a few things by trying this out! First off, it was faster. I know that it doesn't SEEM like it was faster, but I pushed the video back a week in favor of hitting the Sonic Boom hype train right as the game came out, and also I worked slowly for a couple of days because I didn't feel too hot. Having to censor all the boobies slowed me down as well. So, overall the process took the same amount of time, but really the script writing went a lot faster! Which is awesome because that's the part that usually takes me the longest. In addition to breaking up my game playing, I also broke up my footage. Instead of one huge chunk of footage, I would stop recording right after something interesting happened, then I would start recording again. This way I just had to look towards the ends of clips to find parts of the game I wanted to talk about. Definitely helped. As for how the finish script ended up, I think it turned out pretty well! I'll need to do another video to really figure out if it feels the same as my older ones, though. A porn game isn't really the best way to judge it, since I was writing a bit more carefully than I normally would. One thing I noticed is that it seemed like I didn't play as much of the game as I would have if I was writing the other way. This is because by the time I finished the first level, I already had six pages written (normally my scripts are around five pages total)! Writing while the footage was fresh in my mind allowed me to go into a bit more detail I suppose? I'm not sure. The next Original I'm writing, though, I absolutely must finish the game. It should be interesting to see what the first draft of the script looks like. Overall, it was an interesting experiment! I think that the pros of this process greatly outweigh the cons for me. Breaking up the script writing process really made writing a lot easier for me. If I got stuck on anything, I could always just start playing the next section for an idea. So, to any video makers out there, maybe give this process a shot. You never know what might help! Unfortunately I don't have a lot of behind the scenes stuff to offer for Lula 3D. The problem is that I would have to go through and censor more stuff if I wanted to show off some editing tricks, which wouldn't be worth the time. I also didn't have, like, any good outtakes. I think I'm actually getting better at not fucking up my lines. To make up for that, I'm recording some editing/effects tutorials for a Lighting Round that's coming out this Saturday. Definitely want to help out anyone who wants to learn how I edit! Alright guys, thanks for the support! Here's hoping I can keep up this video releasing pace!
