Jill Progress Report #4
Added 2025-09-26 20:18:40 +0000 UTCThere's lots of progress so I think at this point it makes sense to go through scene by scene. I'll go in order of most complete to least complete.
Carry - Done. Final render is complete.
Prone Bone - Almost done. I did a final render but I'm not satisfied with a few details, so I need to fix a few things and do another render.
Missionary - Second pass complete. I just need to run some test renders before final render.
Mating Press - Second pass complete. This is the finale of the project so I still need to do fluid sim before proceeding with the final render.
Intro - First pass is about half done. I just received Wesker's audio, so I'll be able to continue with this.
BJ - Technically, the poll isn't over, but it's effectively won already. I've got the initial core loop done and I'm in the process of working on the overall pacing of the scene.
I've got a few other things worth mentioning too. I've given Jill a substantial hair upgrade! There is a really nice addon to convert hair cards into geometry nodes and it works pretty seamlessly with Jill's hair model. The downside is that it does increase render times, but it results in similar quality to particle hair with almost no setup required.

I've also worked on some other fun details like a bubble particle systems for all the vats in the background.
Speaking of render times, I've got some estimates in now that I've rendered a couple scenes. It's looking like it could be anywhere from 10-30 hours for each scene. That's quite a hefty amount of time. I'm probably going to have to consolidate the alternate versions. I think I'll have to combine the RE3R outfit and human variants. That is the to say the main version will be RE1 + Tyrant and the two alternates will be RE3R + white/black human. I just don't know if I can do more than that with these render times.
