Project X: Subject 2 Update

Hey, I'm back from vacation and I want to give an update on the project status. This will be a fairly brief update since I've only come back recently, but I have already been working more on the project.

I've hit a milestone for all the posters. I've completed the first pass of lighting for all pictures in the project. That is 60+ total. I don't want to give an exact number since some might end up getting cut or some might get added, but that is more or less the number.

What does first pass of lighting mean? For me, it's my first main attempt at lighting a scene. This is usually as extensive as it takes for me to be satisfied with the vibe of the lighting. Second pass means tweaking existing lighting or adding more lights to fix any problems I have with the scene. It might also mean redoing the lighting from scratch if I don't like the first pass enough. Second pass is usually pretty easily if I'm really satisfied with the first pass, and the lighting is more or less complete after this point. While I think maybe a quarter of the poses will need significant reworks for the second pass, I think most of the project is looking really good.

At the pace I'm going, I think the entire collection of posters can probably be complete in 1-2 weeks. After that, the "movie" portion depends on how much I want to animate. If I animate the short intro and outro plus all the pictures, the movie is probably doable in another 1-2 weeks. The animation work for Project X was pretty quick, and the story portion for Subject 2 is a little shorter.

That puts the project looking like 2-4 weeks to finish. It is definitely possible to finish this out before the end of July, but it's looking pretty close.

There is more though. I've been eyeing up some poses from the project in particular. I want to set this movie apart from Project X and expand on it a little. I've been thinking about animating a few sex loops. It depends how in depth I animate the scenes. I could keep the quality low and use them as corrupted footage, so I don't have to commit too much time to animation, or I could put full effort as though they were standalone animations. Quick loops could probably be thrown together in like a week, but higher quality stuff would more likely take a week per loop. Throw all that animation into the mix, and August is looking more likely.

I don't think anyone is really going to object to the project taking a little longer for more content, I just worry as patron count is finally starting to drain from the success of Project X, and I have basically no content to fill the void in the meantime.
