June Plans
Added 2022-05-29 19:33:02 +0000 UTCAnimation is going to be the focus for June. I've been saying for a while now that I want to do more animation work, but commissions have slowed that down significantly. I actually haven't done any animation work without commissions in the background for over a year. I learned the NLA editor almost a year ago too. I think it cleaned up my workflow significantly, but I haven't had many opportunities to utilize it. With all that said, I'm taking a break from commission at least for a short while.
I'm trying to wrap up the setup for many animations right now. I've spent the last couple weeks or so thinking up ideas, posing, and figuring out which voice actors to hire for characters. Currently, I have 10 scenes pose complete and ready to draft for animation. Drafts are very basic animations that mostly serve to help guide pacing for recording audio. Once the drafts are ready, they'll be sent off to the VAs. I have over a dozen more ideas beyond those posed out.
This is mostly a challenge to myself to see how fast I can put together animation work with no other projects going on simultaneously. It's an ambitious amount of animations simply because this is a backlog of a year or so of ideas combined with the fact that short loops need to be recorded in bulk by actresses. I have about three loops minimum per actress, so that means quite a lot of animations to prepare.
I don't know exactly how this will go. Ideally, I'd like to do multiple animations a week. Realistically, I'll probably get about one done per week. The animations are meant to be short, like 5-10 seconds, so they won't be too difficult. That said, I am also trying for a decent amount of variety. It's also still a little more challenging because I'm managing so many different animations at once, at least right now while posing and figuring out everything for voice acting.
It's also possible that I may just scrap some animations along the way with so many to choose from. At the very worst, I think the discarded animations will still make for decent posters. From the amount of ideas I have, that should mean no shortage of content.
I'm looking forward to working on all these animations. I'm anxious about being rusty, since I haven't done much animation lately but still excited. Often, coming up with ideas and posing is the hardest part. The fact that I've blasted through so many already is good. There will likely be a large volume of WIPs to share as I want to show off all the poses.
