The "Record Scratch - Freeze Frame!" Update

Hey there, my dear Patrons, you wonderful and supportive human beings (at least I assume you're human. I don't judge either way.)

I come to y'all with a bummer of an update.

You have probably gathered by now that this here Patreon, and my whole smutting career, is only my side gig. I wish it wasn't so. I truly wish this would pay my rent, and energy and heat, my gym membership and potato chips and everything. But it doesn't.

And that, sadly, means that I have to have a day job, too. (I know. Doesn't that suck?!)

That day job has been badly hit by covid over the last few years, which has made things pretty tight, financially - and y'all have helped me greatly to cover my ass during that time.

But - alas! - my day job is back on track, and not only that, we’ve managed to secure enough work to (hopefully) make up for some of what we've lost over the last three years.

Which, you know, is great. Of course. Yay.

But that in turn means that, over the next couple of months, I will have to work full time on my day job, traveling the country, sometimes spending multiple weeks at a time away from home, with only short breaks in between.

In no way can I sustain that and create two new sketches each month, with y'all's commissions on top of that. That's just not possible.

Which forced me to make a decision: earn enough money to live, or do what I love. And guys, I hated making that decision. But there's sadly only one choice in this capitalist hellscape we're living in, and that is Earn Money.

To cut this sob-a-thon short:

I will have to pause this here Patreon for a couple of months. Starting November 1st, I will put everything on hold, lasting until the end of May 2023. If everything works out, you won’t get billed anything, and y'all can still see the backlog of everything I've drawn and written so far. But there won’t be any new and regular content, nor commissions created while the Patreon is on pause.

How will this affect you, as a patron of 3rd Base or Homerun level? If your next commission is coming due after November 1st, it goes to the top of my queue when I resume the Patreon in the new year. And if you have a commission coming up, but haven’t decided what you’d like me to create for you, now you have a little extra time to let your imagination run wild.

If your commission is coming up before November 1st (and we've been in touch with each other to discuss it – some of you wonderful people need to check your messages more often!) then rest assured I'm working on it now, and you'll have it soon.

I'm truly sorry to have to put our project together on hold like this — I love creating with you, and would do this all day, every day if I could. But right now I need to take care of some business so I can create even more opportunities for us to imagine together. I'm already looking forward to coming back charged up with new ideas... and maybe some new experiences and encounters along the way I can show you…

I want to thank you for your continued patronage. Your support of my work has been tremendously important, and very gratefully received. I hope we can continue creating together for a long time to come, and I look forward to seeing you all again in a few months' time.

Also: There will be no regular content, but I will still try to drop some sketches into the feed whenever I have a chance, some free time, and some hot, fresh inspiration thrust in my face while on the road, you can count on that!
