Monthly sketches for Patrons - A discussion and preview!

That title may have interested you. It's been a long time since I've started my Patreon and I've long contemplated doing monthly sketches or drawings for Patrons. I want to go over some details, ideas, and garner some feedback perhaps!
To start with let me lay out my initial idea:
- 4 to 8 slots only per month.
-Price floor starts either at the $20 or a new $25/30 stage. Anyone at or higher than that is auto-enrolled for that month.
-Limited to sketch and color. I plan to draw an image or two to match my ideal visual look that you can expect from this.
-A ruleset similar to my commission sheet but with some modification. I will detail this more if the idea reaches fruition.
I am thinking of demo-ing this system either next month (March) or very soon. I'll notify folks ideally within a couple days before March starts if March is the month to start it.
After I finish the sketches for that month, I will make a decision if I want to continue that idea into next month, or take a break.

That's another thing I can consider too. Go month by month for how many slots I'm gonna take. But I don't necessarily want to make it so unsteady as to make folks wary of trying to get in because next month I go from 6 slots to 2. It's gonna be interesting to try to balance.

Once I do some demo sketches for what can be expected from both myself and you folks, I'll know better how I want to price it and how many slots I want to take. I admit to depending on my wicked speed keeping me up on this. Limiting stuff to sketch, with responsive clients, can have me completing up to two sketches in a day. That's idealistic though! It's something I know will take longer than that and that's fine. I'll keep myself lucid month to month depending on workload I'm wanting.

2024-02-23 20:50:28 +0000 UTCAs a lot have already pointed out, it sounds great but it also seems like something that can swamp you with too much very fast! In my own opinion i dont mind if its 1 a month, 5 a month or just whenever you feel like it fits.

I've seen a few artists do it, and most of them have either pivoted to something more sustainable or have stopped posting altogether. Seeing more art from you (and potentially getting a sketch from you in the future!) is enticing, but don't overextend yourself. If you're doing color, I would definitely say you should be putting the price point higher than $20. That's just my two cents, it's exciting stuff, I just want to keep seeing your art!
