Beta Update - 10/25/21

here we go!

Sorry about the delay. Last week was parent-teacher conferences, so my daughter had only a three day school week, which means I only had a three day work week too 😅 but I spent today finishing up what I couldn't last week, and now we're good to go.

We've reached the point in my outline where "End Chapter" is actually on the list, so I'm hopeful that I'll get that done next month. Got some more RO scenes coming up (a delicious bit of hurt/comfort, which is one of my favorite things to write), and then a big decision at the end of the chapter that'll lead to two fairly different versions of Chapter 4 (which I'm calling the "kana branch" and "rory branch" though all characters will be present for both. Rory and Kana just get to take the spotlight on these branches, so you can get to know them as well as you know Li, Bas, and Az.)

I also need to update the profile and relationships pages, which I forgot to do this month. I'm going to get to work on them first thing tomorrow, so I may roll out another update in a day or two just for that.

I also plan to post what I've got coded for Partially Stars so far later this week, once I've finished getting its itch.io page set up! It's not finished yet, but I've made a lot of progress since y'all last saw it.

okay, without further ado, here's the link!

Total word count so far: 170,014 before code

You can play the beta here!

for those of you that are trans, I'd love to know what you think about the choices in the conversation with Audrey. I tried not to bog it down with too many different variations, but I know that everyone's relationship with gender and transitioning is different and that my personal experiences with them may be very different from your own. If there's any options you'd like me to add/ways you'd like me to rephrase something, please let me know.

Comments

Incredibly minor spoilers? ~~~ Very small typo at the top of the page "She taps Liam in the photograph, drawing your attention to him. he looks" where 'he' is lowercase. One further later on where Li addresses Speaker at the breakfast table: "He shakes his head, muttering "later" to himself before turning a his attention to you", perhaps 'turning all his attention'? I loved hanging out in Seer/Speaker's house! The whole 'family' atmosphere is incredible, and I cherish it. Thank you for sharing!
