Weekly Update + - 7/20/21

hello and happy Tuesday!

It's been a week of ups and downs. As I mentioned last week, my daughter started school... and, inevitably, got a cold during her first week. It's a lot of new germs she was exposed to, so we're not surprised, but it meant my biggest priority this weekend and yesterday was taking care of her.

But before she got sick, I had a wonderfully productive week! And since she went back this morning, I'm hopeful that this week will be just as productive!

I skipped ahead in the coding a little and got the CC finally done! Or at least, part one of it, which is the most involved from a coding stand point. The other parts will be a little more straightforward and be easier to code, though I'm going to code those in order instead of jumping ahead like I did for the rest 😉

My plan for this week is to finish edits and coding for the update! I'm hoping to get the beta version out by Saturday at the latest, so I've got a busy week ahead of me!

for update plus this week, I wanted to talk about the CC a bit more!

We'll start off with a picture I shared of on discord last week, but I wanted to share it here too:

this is the chapter 3 CC page that I have coded, the "head stuff" CC specifically. As you can see, you'll be able to choose if you dye your hair, if it's going gray, if you have a beard, glasses, or ear/facial piercings, and then choose the style of each one beyond that. You can have all or none of them, with the exception of graying and dying your hair--you have to choose one or the other, since if your hair is dyed you wouldn't be able to see it graying 😁

I'm hoping this will really lend itself to a more immersive story experience going forward!

the other parts of the CC that haven't been coded are "bedroom" where you'll pick the style of your room (since the rest of the house belongs to the family whereas the room is yours alone to decorate as you wish), and then "body stuff" which will be body type, clothing style, and things like whether you have any tattoos or things like that.
