Lizzara piggy | Additional teaser

Hello friends. Before the release of update 0.33 we showed you an unusual post with an alternate Sarah. Remember that? We received good feedback and decided to spice up the teasers with some ideas that didn't make it into the game, or just with what we encounter during development.

If you're not familiar with an artist's workflow, you probably don't know that the first drafts are rough versions of what will become the final product. It's like when you start painting and it looks like a clump of colors, but then you add details and it becomes a masterpiece, we hope you get the point. So don't be alarmed by what you see; it's just a sketch. Our first draft was not a masterpiece..

We started working further, sticking to our drawing standards. The result was a drawing that really looked like it belonged in our game.

Then we started working on the details. Oh, by the way, this artist drew another scene for the 34th update and it's the Hunger of the Queen of Blades (Zergling Leader)!

But back to Lizzara. The main artist got involved and helped us draw the right face for Lizzara to serve as a reference point. We didn't want her to look too anime-like in the end.

But the adventurous spirit took hold of Arthur, he wanted to try something, and the goal was to make something in between his version and what our artist drew (yeah sorry I can not help it, I guess my curiosity is catlike :D) and this is what came out. But we realized that we already had a lot of different types of faces, and that was a problem. After that, we collectively decided not to change the usual Lizzara's face.

You haven't heard anything new specifically about the scene itself in this post, but today you've learned a lot about the process of our work, namely sketch art, so now you know how much is behind a single picture, even if it's not 100% finished.
