Its GABA-correlated activity results from the modulation of the GABAA receptors, not from increasing GABA secretion per se. Androsterone can convert to DHT through the unfamous DHT backdoor pathway, and this way mediates its impact on body masculinization as it has a relatively low androgenic activity on its own (however, is a highly potent estrogen blocker by estrogen receptors, thus indirectly preventing prolactin release). On the other hand, its effect on SMR brainwave results strictly from its activity in the brain, as it's a potent neurosteroid, DHT-independent. For anyone curious about androsterone and it's benefits, this might be helpful. I already use an audio containing it, and BN already has a very potent existing binaural for it (capable of giving these benefits for prolonged time with enough consistent use), but for anyone who wants the following effects it's a good choice.
