Total Cholesterol / HDL - LDL ratio - How to take care of during AAS cycles?

In this article, I provide a clear explanation of cholesterol and HDL-LDL ratio. I also discuss the crucial role of cholesterol in the development of steroid hormones and provide practical ways to counteract the adverse effects of AAS on cholesterol and HDL-LDL ratio through proper diet, supplementation, and simple training modifications.

Cholesterol is a precursor of all steroid hormones (pictured in the scheme above). It also allows for the biosynthesis of vitamin D and bile acid.

Most cholesterol production occurs in the intestines and liver. That's one of the primary reasons every AAS indirectly impacts the intestines and the liver and may disturb steroidogenesis even once you complete PCT. Additionally, LDL will increase rapidly because of its influence on HMGCR (the metabolic pathway that produces cholesterol).

This means that low animal fat intake (associated with vegan diets) may lead to disturbed hormone production (e.g., testosterone - dihydrotestosterone and testosterone - estrogen ratio) and the development of feminine-like body characteristics. It is not a coincidence that fat meat is often identified with alpha males.
Nevertheless, it doesn't mean you should run a keto diet
. A well-balanced diet, rich in complex carbohydrates is always the best choice for healthy men.

LDL (low-density lipoprotein)

Commonly called "bad" cholesterol. LDL allows transporting of fat molecules around the body in the extracellular water. Its high level will lead to heart disease, as it may accumulate in blood vessels, causing them to stiffen and narrow.

HDL (high-density lipoprotein)

Commonly called "good" cholesterol. It allows optimal transport of LDL cholesterol from the blood to the liver to break it down and keep it from building up in arteries. As a result, it will prevent circulatory diseases arising from high LDL.

Optimal LDL-HDL ratio
- LDL below 120mg/dL
- HDL higher than 40 mg/dL (best twice / ~80mg/dL)
Total cholesterol is a poor indicator and shouldn't be taken in consideration once you have LDL below 120mg/dL

How to take care of cholesterol during AAS cycles?

As I mentioned, using all AAS will lead to increased LDL cholesterol and worsen LDL - HDL ratio - even low dosages of testosterone (200-300 mg/week). This is why it is essential to properly take care of cholesterol levels from the beginning of the cycle.

Remember that the stronger the anabolic effect of steroids, the more adverse its influence on cholesterol.

- do not start the cycle if your body fat is above 20%

- perform 1-2 cardio sessions a week (at least 20-30 minutes)

- reduce trans fat intake

- supplement omega 3 acids (at least 500mg of DHA / EPA daily), niacin (vit. B-3), and coenzyme Q10 (100mg)

- supplement GW-501516 (cardarine) 10mg daily (especially useful on DHT derivatives)

- drink green tea

- flax seeds are worth considering

- protect liver/intestines during cycles based on methyled agents

Comments

Above all, unlike real AAS, they don't interfere with cholesterol biosynthesis. Steroid frequencies may either decrease or raise cholesterol levels in the longer term (depending on the initial levels of steroid hormones), but as the response to intensified steroidogenesis - a process opposite to the one occurring by actual AAS. Therefore, there is no need to take extra precautions with cholesterol as you would by using exogenous agents. Nevertheless, monitoring cholesterol levels at least once a year is always recommended. Steroid frequencies have a high safety profile, especially those based on morphic fields. Nevertheless, of course, for instance, optimizing your testosterone secretion and activity in the body can naturally lead to an increase in estrogen, while increasing the activity of endogenous nandrolone may cause a slight increase in prolactin in individuals prone to it. However, none steroid frequency will cause classic adverse effects like HPTA block or those correlated to methylated steroids, like hepatotoxicity, kidney disturbances, etc. I also always provide potential frequency-specific side effects in the description. If you experience any side effects, follow the protocol in section 1.2 of the user guide (https://www.patreon.com/posts/exemplary-cycle-20651727). And remember - whenever you discontinue your cycle, your body will always naturally return to homeostasis.

Hello. I'm using your AAS frequencies from a time now, do i need to take the same care of my cholesterol levels as a person who takes real AAS? And another question; is there any risk on taking the frequency steroids? Thanks in advance.
