Weekly Update - Sep 5th

Hi Everyone,

So remember last week when I said that I thought we wouldn't be talking about Chapter 9 progress in this week's update. Can we all agree that actually never happened please?

Here is the state of play as of 5:30am as I write this. Scripting is complete, I am testing through the code right now one last time before starting the editing process, thanks in advance, Paul :) Rendering though is what is holding things up. I've really put a lot of work into this final scene I am working on, way more than I had originally planned. I have 8 still renders left to do, which shouldn't take too long but also 2 more animations, which do take a long time as we are talking between 40 and 60 renders per animation.

To do then: Finish up initial testing - Will be done today. Edit and fix, today or tomorrow. Finish Rendering (assuming animations go smoothly, probably should work on a day for each animation, so 2 days away). After that a few full end to end tests of the chapter, and fix any issues found. At that point, I'll be ready to compile the build and do all the promo stuff. So I think we are probably talking around three more days and I can finally let you guys taste this chapter.

This one has absolutely been the most challenging chapter I have had to build. Not necessarily from a technical perspective but just putting it altogether into a form I am happy with. There may be the need to rework a few renders down the line, but I'm not going to get too anal about that right now as the current set is more than good enough to get the job done.

Feel free to roast me in the comments, hehe. I deserve it. I've certainly taken my time with this chapter but as I have said on numerous occasions, this is an important one and one I felt I had to get right.

One last thing before I go. Best Friends is on sale on Steam right now, if anyone wanted to get a deal before the chapter drops.
