What's going on in YACReader for iOS development?

I wanted to write a little bit about what features and new stuff I am working on, so there it goes.

One of the most important things I always have to work is to keep the app alive. iOS is an always changing environment and apps need to adjust to fit the new standards.

iOS has been moving to improve files management, it has open the access to the file system a lot for the user through the Files app, and apps can now access whole folders outside their sandbox environment. So I want to make the YACReader internal library optional, and let users create their own libraries outside the app. These libraries are going to be fully compatible with YACReaderLibrary libraries, so you could have an external disk in your computer with comics managed by YACReaderLibrary and use the same disk in YACReader for iOS. Or you could choose to have your own folder in your iOS device and YACReader for iOS will be able to create a library in that folder. Libraries creation process will be different from how it works on desktops, libraries will be created incrementally as you browse them. These new libraries will be pinnable to the bottom tab bar.

I also need to update the UI to support dark/light modes, as happened with the split screen mode this will be mandatory at some time, and users will also demand it more and more.

There are plans to improve the cloud services support, the idea is to make the browsers pinnable to the bottom tab and allow opening files without importing them.

In the reading section I would like to add page thumbnails to make easier to find a page. And also want to add a panel by panel reading mode, it will use the same technology used to auto-trim margins so the job is partially done, the most challenging part will be to adapt the UI to new new reading mode.

And I want to fix reading list import, this has been long overdue and I have some ideas to fix it without too much work. This feature was waiting for a huge refactoring I want to do, but maybe I can fix it without it.

This doesn't mean that I am not working in other features, there are tons of things in my TODO list, but the features described above will probably be the key features in YACReader 4.0.
