Keely is Launching her single release “4 Steps to heaven” today.

You can find her music HERE 💙

Keely is a proud Gubbi Gubbi, Gooreng Gooreng and South Sea Islander woman, wearing many hats as a fully independent artist, mother, activist and businesswoman. Coming from a long line of song men and women music is not only her birthright but her legacy – she began writing at just 3 years old employing her parents to scribe her ideas and spending hours recording with her microphone and cassette player, eventually directing siblings and cousins in extensive campfire productions. Growing up Keely was home-schooled and shadowed her parents in their work in Indigenous primary health, community services and education.

With more than 12 years’ experience in creative industries at government, private, corporate and community levels, Keely began facilitating community development initiatives at the age of 15 with the pilot of her “Youth Express” project during her time interning at Sunshine Coast Council. After leaving behind a corporate career with Accor Asia Pacific in Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and events in 2015, Keely's professional journey with music was birthed out of crisis having experienced an abusive relationship with the father of her child she chose to lean into her gift of expression through music as a means of storytelling and medicine as she navigated trauma with sound therapy.

Keely became very resourceful with how she monetised her art whilst navigating criminalisation as an Indigenous victim of Domestic Violence and single mother living below the poverty benchmark.

In 2018 she received a life-saving scholarship to attend Ethno Music Camp to participate in the Ethno Folk Orchestra. This was a catalyst for many more wonderful opportunities and achievements including the independent production and release of a single in 2020, a full-length studio album in 2022, independent production and release a 9-minute short film, and independent community engagement tour.

Keely is the founder and director of social enterprise, Healing Through Song which unites First Nations women by exploring music as a solution to a variety of socio-political and economic challenges faced by our communities, centring sound and somatic healing to unpack individual, generational and systemic trauma.

Musically Keely is an experienced vocalist and performer devoted to honing her power as an artist and ultimately mastering her craft whilst creating pathways for Mob to enact sovereignty in the colony. Keely’s sound is genre defying but grounded heavily in R&B, Soul and Jazz. Keely uses other mediums such as film, movement and visual arts to document her personal and shared journey of healing through song.
