The very slow burn of their relationship, in whatever form it ended up settling in. Has been an unconventional one, particularly in terms of a will they won't they cliché. They have never bashed you over the head with it. But the signs have been there for quite a while. With hindsight you'd interpret them differently during a rewatch. I mean, that long time apart after Jane went on the run. She spent cosy evenings with a glass of wine reading his letters.
