I love Bones as a fun procedural cop show. But we have seen too often that they don't really rely enough on logical story telling criteria when it comes to their characters decisions and actions. Fabulous catch on the Angela not knowing something she should. The writers needed a tell the audience something character. Slipping up on her foundational backstory was a little lazy. I agree. Too often these shows skate over the fact that these types of crime scene clean up acts might normally be done by the depraved. Or specialists in more organised crime situations. The perpetrator of the week often never acts anything like a regular person would. Not every criminal every week is warped in their thinking. But they often act in a way that serves the story not the character. Particularly when things have to be wrapped up in a 40 minute window. When it comes to the crimes, we probably only get 5-10 really really great stories per series, if I'm being brutally honest.
