Quick note about the Welders
Added 2023-10-02 18:38:11 +0000 UTCHi all! Quick couple of things about The Welders. I'm cleaning up the machines and getting them ready to ship. Realistically it'll probably be a month before they've been checked over and ready to ship to someone. HTP has graciously offered to include needed accessories. They would have otherwise been coming nekkid since I don't have more than one set of stuff.
ANYWAY... I likely have to limit this to the continental US. Shipping, customs, taxes, duty, whatever, is more than likely to add up to a significant amount. I can see this being $6-800 easy, depending on how your country might tax you. I don't think "gift" flies and you'll like be charged on the value of the welder. That kind of cash/trouble for a USED welder seems nuts.
Also, this will be a random draw. I appreciate the messages everyone is sending. And I'd love if there were a chicken in ever pot, but it'll be random pick from a hat.
I'll let everyone know a little later one how to enter / "rules" etc.
PS I'm purposely avoiding saying things like giv3away and trying to not make a big thing about it. Youtube has gotten crazy and already the comment section is full of spam/scam. second, this is not a publicity stunt.
PPS please don't fall for "you won! telegram me @ old tony this is really me I swear"

Hey, I’d like to see if I can still weld… since high school! 😳

2023-11-13 17:44:32 +0000 UTCI so much hope to win! I've been seriously wanting to learn welding for over 10 years but very early in a professional welder told me that a cheap Hazard Frought unit would be a mistake and make learning more difficult. And I couldn't afford a proper welder so no hands-on learning yet!

2023-11-13 17:35:00 +0000 UTCI just love what you have shared with the world. Just thanks for being out there, doing what you do.

2023-10-07 17:56:21 +0000 UTCI have my fingers crossed as well. Either one of these welders would tremendously increase what i can do in my shop. Lets see if i can get lucky once in my life! (Aside from my wife and kids of course lol) ps: if i do get drawn, id happily save you the shipping and come pick it up! I believe from subtle clues that it wouldn't be a completely outlandish drive for me

2023-10-03 12:37:52 +0000 UTCOne of the things I love about ToT is his was with words and sense of humor. Reading the comments section here, I don’t think the apple falls far from the tree with us fans. No good deed goes unpunished ToT. Sorry the internet is full of crap making your good deed that much harder. Thanks for remembering there are good people out here and trying to do something for them.

2023-10-03 11:34:42 +0000 UTCIt seems to be quite OK, but since I'm not a welder, take this with a grain of salt. At any rate I had no issues with it, as far as I can judge everything works properly and I have been able to weld steel, stainless and aluminium without issues.

2023-10-03 04:06:24 +0000 UTCCan I ask what AC welder you got for 500€? And how do you like it? I am looking for one since my dc tig "broke up with me" like old tony put it.

2023-10-02 23:52:12 +0000 UTCIf it helps, even though all welders are commonly referred to as "hot-glue guns", for some reason the stick-welders for wood are actually *marketed* under that name. The ones that are marketed as "welders" seem to mostly be metal-only, except for rare ones that work for plastic.

2023-10-02 22:42:17 +0000 UTCAwesome what you’re doing with the giveaway. I picked up the 221 three (?) years ago and have loved it ever since! A fraction of the cost of a Dynasty with all the bells and whistles. I’m real tempted to put my name in the hat for the MIG, looks like an amazing machine. I do however have a HF MIG which I use more than the 221 and is surprisingly decent. I hope it goes to a kid who builds a home made rocket and lands on the moon. Speaking of you should exclude Furze, too much liability.

2023-10-02 22:36:07 +0000 UTCYes, but does your multiprocess machine have synergic settings for pasta? What is the maximum feed rate of spaghetti noodles?

2023-10-02 19:15:14 +0000 UTCI love that you are doing such a thing for your community. You are one my all-time favorite entertainers and teachers even though the closest I have ever come to metalworking is straightening my bent ice-cream spoon. I would never need a welder living full-time at my house of only for the fact that I have never figured out how to stick-weld two pieces of wood together.

2023-10-02 19:10:23 +0000 UTCPlease sign them as suggested above. It would awesome to receive a signed welder even if it is used.

2023-10-02 18:55:30 +0000 UTCJust when I get my harbor freight welder and start laying my first mig welds down does this offer come in that I'm obviously going to win. I already paid ThlsOIdTOny $50 for the winning ticket on Twitter/X. Also, the Titanium line of welders are HF are surprisingly decent and match my ability well. Hoping this goes to an up and coming metal working who could really put it to good use!

2023-10-02 18:48:16 +0000 UTCI thought this was rather obvious, I didn't even think of applying - and this not only because I already have an AC TIG welder. Mine was around 500€ delivered, so, cheaper than what it might cost to get one "free" from you. And it seems rather solid and full-featured to me, so even if it's not a brand name, it's enough for a noob. It still works.

2023-10-02 18:46:23 +0000 UTCYoung man, you should definitely sign 'em or otherwise add a personal touch in a place that won't wear off in normal use. Normal people won't care but the ToT turbo-nerds who win will be over the moon!

2023-10-02 18:45:47 +0000 UTCPretty neat thing you're doing, but I have no idea where I'd put such a thing anyway. I will continue to enjoy welding the old-fashioned way--vicariously.

2023-10-02 18:45:26 +0000 UTCI'll just hold my breath and wait for details on how to enter. In the event that holding my breath proves to be unwise pastime, someone please avenge my death.

2023-10-02 18:42:42 +0000 UTCThanks for the heads-up - also for your words in the video about only entering if the welders would be of any real use to you. While I'd probably give my left kidney for an in-person shop tour and some of the more "iconic" things you have created over time (the moka pot would come to mind), I'm certainly not in the market for a welder and my 3d printer is the closest I've ever come to "machining" something...
