There might be a really recent example of Booth lying to Brennan. Maybe when he promised to to tell her at the end of the case a time that he lied to her, and instead told her how much she meant to him. That was him placating her with a compliment rather than a harsh true he doesn't want her to hear. I agree, by omission is in no way the same as a purposeful white lie that you have to openly express in order to mislead people from the truth as you understand it.
