Another more personal commercial break:
Some more artwork pertaining to AZ Pokeman, and some snapshots of process. Sometimes, planning is the most difficult part.
I like being able to go back and compare the under-sketches to the final 'product'. It's my mind trying to muscle through the bulk of the puzzle. You can tell what I'm trying to 'work out', by how often I go back over the same area.
1st: I wanted to make something very intimate with difficult head angles. I probably spent the most time on the under drawing. Sketching, deleting, sketching, deleting, scrolling for references. Sketching...until finally I like what I've planned.
2nd : AZ is ancient, so I wanted to give him a barbarian kind of look in his younger years. He's probably more of a nerd and not a fighter, but it's just wishful thinking he might have known some kinda combat as King.
3rd : I wanted to make a semi legendary mount. Primordial + Premonition + Oracle
It's inspired mostly by North American/Canadian folklore or creations. :]
