Q&A: How effectively accurate were the fire control and torpedo data computers on battleships and submarines in real combat conditions. I am thinking of how overhyped the Norden bombsight was when compared to its actual combat effectiveness.

Perhaps compared to those used on the 5"/38 secondaries, both mechanically, optically, and the resulting (theoretical) accuracy? My brother recently took the insider tour of USS North Carolina and said they actually had someone (alive) advising who had worked on her back in the day. Thank you sir.
