Comments

I have actually had to dial back my audio level whilst watching Drach, to avoid clipping and distortion on my TV speakers. I leave my TV Volume control at a fixed point, and reduce/raise the audio output levels of my devices for clearest sound quality. I feed my music into my stereo and mute my TV when listing to music videos on YouTube, or iTunes to avoid damaging the tiny TV speakers. You might want to check and adjust the video's volume level before adjusting the TV's volume level, to avoid quality degradation or inadequate volume levels overall. Also, make sure your computer's master output volume is set correctly. Having this turned down can reduce the overall sound level going into your TV, and make it seem like the source video is lower in sound level than it actually is. Hope this helps.

The USS Albany, Chicago, and Columbus were not handsome ships. They were the USN's first all missile cruisers -- the Long Beach came first but had a couple 5" guns (somewhere). They also featured mast-stacks called "macks."

Q&A Were proximity fuses ever used on depth charges during WWII? If not, were there technical reasons for not doing this?

Capitano Lorenzo

It must be the calming effect of Madame Drach that has tempered him…somewhat…;>)

Q&A Did the United States Navy revert to using the Mk.10 torpedo during the early years of WWII when the Mk.14 was of little (if any) use? If yes, did the Mk.10 remain in production during the war, and was it used on U.S. Destroyers and other surface vessels as well as subs?

Capitano Lorenzo

That is super weird! I am watching on a Android TV (or whatever they call them now), so maybe it is device specific... But your's is the only one of my 80-odd subscribed channels that does this. I can of course just raise the volume, but the ads risk causing deafness... Anyway, maybe wait and see if anyone else has the issue before taking any drastic action heh. (And yes, the videos are still great, just quietly great now.)

Consolidated Catlifter

The irony is I've recording louder and louder over the last few months 😀

Drachinifel

Has anyone else noticed that the audio on Drach's videos seems to be getting quieter? Alternatively I'm developing some type of naval-history-specific deafness, which would admittedly be in line with my luck recently...
