ABDA command: If you read the history of this campaign it is mostly Japanese air power that made the ABDA goals impossible. While the IJN heavy cruisers were the hammers, the planes constantly harassed their ships and made it impossible for the Japanese to be taken by surprise... except at night, like at Sunda Strait, which the Americans were not really trained for. The British capital ships would not have helped except to act as magnets for any available bombers. I would love to know what the schedule for retiring the USN Standards was prior to Pearl Harbor.

Question for a future video? The rescue (or lack thereof) of sailors that were trapped in damaged ships at Pearl Harbor still seems to be a topic that is not talked about. I understand the need to keep it quiet at the time. Is it true that many sailors were trapped and were making contact via banging on the ship yet were not rescued? I once heard that personnel on guard duty were traumatized as they listened to trapped sailors banging on the ship. Was the reason for not being able to rescue them was that the rescue diving technology was not very advanced at the time? Was it a problem with the inability to cut through the ships hulls? Of course this is a sensitive subject and I mean no disrespect in asking to get clarification on this issue.

No problem. I usually watch it on Sundays on YouTube anyway. I have a Roku TV. Roku doesn’t have a Patreon app and mirroring my phone to the TV for 3+ hours would be a pain. No harm, no foul.
