Why Mikuma on screen when you were talking about people being sucked down when ships sink?
And speaking of that photo, I can understand why you would want the torpedoes off the ship when you were a sitting target, but why was that so hard to achieve? Leaving them hanging out the side of the ship seems even worse than having them inside.

Speaking of how coal affected the lungs of the crew, I recall a description (probably in "Destroyer Squadron 23" by Ken Jones) of asbestos falling off the ceilings like snow in the destroyer engine rooms when they were at flank speed.

How effective is crossing the enemy's 'T' during and after the dreadnought era? If your enemy is bow on to you, wouldn't the narrow target profile combined with the extreme relative slope of the target's armor belt do a lot to nullify your firepower advantage?
