Sir Amity Bridger is a knight who's trained all her life to find The Chosen One: the woman heralded by prophecy to undertake a sacred journey to save the world. When Amity's search takes her to a distant village and a humble chef named Temperance, Amity is shocked to discover Temperance is seriously overweight and gets out of breath just answering the door. What's more, Temperance is oddly invested in feeding everyone around her as much food as possible at every opportunity.
Can Amity and her companions, the elven sage Vitis and their hired guide Wright, drag Temperance all over the world to complete her sacred task and save the day? How long can they put up with this strange woman and her bizarre predilections? How many meals with Temperance can they endure before they start getting as big as her?
