One of the biggest mistakes I kept making during Eat the Dungeon's development is that I would make a character design without thinking about how their stomach would interact with their costume as it got bigger. So there was a lot of times I had to figure it out on the fly and a bunch of those characters had all kinds of detail and doodads on their midsection I had to take into account. It was a huge pain!
One of my goals for this next project is to design these characters with all that in mind from the get go. So that's why I've got these test sketches to work out how their costumes change.
