They did something in the Japanese dialogue that does not come across well with subtitles. Gettan weakly said "Yuki" and did not finish her name (Yukime) when talking about HIS treasure. But John Smith misunderstood and heard "yuki" meaning snow in Japanese so he thinks the treasure (gold) is buried under the snow lol
