Also as far as visiting the US, if you’re going to be in NY and/or Massachusetts primarily, going to Connecticut is worth it. The USS nautilus in Groton is pretty interesting, and Mystic seaport has a good collection of merchant ships from the age of sail. I think they may have the last surviving whaling ship, among lots of other oddities.

Hi Drach, I’d highly recommend going to see Norfolk, VA. The USS Wisconsin there offers below deck tours, and the maritime museum it’s attached to is pretty decent in its own right. Also, the Mariner’s Museum is nearby, with lots of artifacts from the USS monitor. There are quite a few coastal fortifications in the area as well (Hampton, Virginia Beach, and the Eastern Shore) if you’re interested in those as well.

Drach, Just to be the facile American that relies upon capitalism to solve all problems . . . but, in all seriousness, have you thought about making avenues for people to donate more money? I don't think I am alone in saying that I would give more if there were more tiers. I mean, fair is fair. I probably listen to you ~6-7 hours a month. $15 is a steal and doesn't seem fair. Like you, I want to encourage the scholarship. I am certain that there are others like me who are not opposed to throwing in a bit more to try to continue the incredible scholarship. I am having my wife join to help . . . now you will get to answer age-of-sail questions about Aubrey Maturin/Diana Villiers . . . .

I am so sorry, I tried to limit my in-passing questions to ones that didn't require months of research and years of field tests to answer, lol. I was leaning more towards the simple fun side of things, when I could think of something that wasn't completely stupid sounding compared to the vast quantity of other great questions by others. Thanks for considering the food question, I just wasn't sure if they would bother to do more than just ketch fish along the way and drink Grog. Fantastic vids and the community is a great one. B)
