It's the "I've paused again" post...

Well I suppose the clue is in the headline, but yep, I've paused payments this month as I wrap things off.

I'm deep in the path testing phase right now but have no intention of charging for work where it's rectifying mistakes. Even if those mistakes are in fact just improving the quality of the existing work.

I know this chapter has taken an age, and I'm sorry about that. But I've done what I can to try and ensure you're not financially disadvantaged by this extra work at least.

To recap why it's taken so long, it was the animation work I did in November and December that needed replacing. By the time I'd finished sprucing up VR in March I came to the realisation that I could just do an awful lot better than was present in the game as it existed.

So write off two months work and then add three months worth of replacement work on top and....yep, it took time and hence why I am where I am. The workrate was also quite large due to the sheer number of animated lewd scenes in this chapter. With five different lewd scenes (and I'm excluding here any animations in the domme module of which there are several) the animation needs are high.

Was it a dumb decision? Maybe? Especially given my current power levels in respect to rendering speed. On the one hand leaving them as they were would have meant I'd have shipped a couple of months ago. And it wasn't even as though they were bad. They weren't. They were...average. They worked, ran smooth and sort of did the job. They just weren't very good. You looked at them and went "Oh, an animation." That sort of level y'know?

On the other hand, what I have now is significantly more than average and the response from people who have seen just a small proportion of them suggests they are more than good. Much more.

You are of course, fully entitled to think I'm an idiot (Hell, I often do so why shouldn't you be allowed to?) and no doubt given the brief description above may well have already come to a position over how big a fool I am.

But I would ask you to fully reserve judgement until you've seen the finished product. Then we can all discuss properly how big a fool I am (and y'know we might, just might decide I wasn't...well you never know, right?).  

I'm going to run quiet now for a few weeks so won't be around social media wise etc whilst I get through the final testing phase. It's the grindy bit, and the only time the whole process actually feels like work and less like fun. Plus it needs a bucket of concentration to ensure I catch everything the testers have found. Nothing worse than having a bug crop up that someone had already told you about...
