Patreon is offering mid-month charge option - should we switch to it?

Right now, everyone is being charged on the 1st of the month, irrespective of when they join. This is a little mean if you've pledged $25 on the 28th of the month, get charged immediately, then get charged $25 again for the next month. Hence, I can see the new option might be fairer.
I remember this is how Patreon used to work, then they've changed it to the 1st of the month because apparently it was so much better for everyone, and now they're giving us the option to change it back again because that's what most users expect would happen (read: too many people have complained about it).
This doesn't affect existing patrons, but if you had a preference, and if you were a new patron, would you prefer to be
- charged on the sign-up date (new option)
- charged on the 1st of every month regardless of join date (current option)
Let me know by way of a vote below. It's an option I can choose to change if I wanted to, but I won't be able to change it back. At my end, there are no consequences so I'd do what's best for you and prospective new patrons.
