Deforming one seat object with multiple figures in DAZ Studio

If you need multiple characters sitting on the same object, this video is for you. I'll show you how to create a single collider object  from multiple figures, so that a single proxy object can deform a  Smoothing Modifier.

This is a follow-up to my previous video in  which I'm explaining this process in detail for a single figure:  https://youtu.be/VfabXx6kqXE, which attracted a few questions (multiple people being the most popular one).

Closely  followed was the question, "can a figure collide with itself", say for a  character poking itself, but sadly no: while you can add a smoothing  modifier to a figure, and set the same figure to be the collider, the  modifier does not interact. Instead, you need to use a duplicate of the  figure and turn it invisible, much I'm showing in this video.

I don't think so, if I understand it correctly, the smoothing modifier doesn't have the option to paint maps. But then, with so many hidden features, I may have missed it. For partial smoothing I'd probably go into ZBrush or Blender and smooth the necessary parts, then bring that in as a morph instead.

Thank you, Jay, for the tip! I was wondering, what's if you do NOT want the edges of the cube to be smoothed? Can one define the specific part of the object to be affected by the smoothing modifier? My question is not just a whim: I use smoothing modifier to smooth out the face when different morphs are applied and often do not interact well with each other. It works great on cheeks, but I do not want areas like eyelids and the mouth to be affected. Is there a kind of weight map which you could paint to limit the influence zones?
