Once Upon a Time REACTION - S01E01 - Pilot

Thank you so much for a fabulous first reaction for Once Upon a Time!! I know that you're for the most part not going into this show completely blind like most reactors and that's completely fine. You seemed to remember most of this pilot episode, but maybe you won't remember as much from the episodes here on out. Either way, I had a lot of fun re-watching this episode with you as you watch it over again, until you will eventually get to season four. After which I'm so happy that you will be watching the rest of the series blindly. I really enjoyed watching your reaction to my all time favorite show and I'm really happy that you're so intrigued by the storylines and that you're excited to watch more. I really appreciate that you're watching and reacting to this show for me. So... thank you again! Oh... and because I am watching this series with other members here on Patreon, including Luffy too... I will be copying and pasting my comments I've written for their reactions as well, with a few changes made depending on some of the things you may say or question. You will obviously react differently to each episode than anyone else will and so I will most likely be adding some to my previous thoughts to help answer some of your questions you might have, or for the things you observe about the show that others might not. My initial thoughts and how I feel about each episode won't necessarily change much, unless you happen to point something out to me that I didn't know. For example... I know that Ginnifer and Josh are married in real life, and that it was really snowing in that first scene when Charming awakens Snow White with True Love's Kiss. However, I didn't know that the creators initially planned to kill off Charming after the Pilot episode. Thank goodness Josh pulled off such a stellar performance throughout it, because I absolutely love Charming. :) This Pilot episode is amazing! I love both the storylines for our characters back in the Enchanted Forest, as well as for our characters in the present day... in Storybrooke. In the present, everyone is cursed without memories of who they truly are and who their loved ones are, and where they have all been frozen in time until now... now that Emma has arrived and has begun to change things and weaken the curse over everyone simply by choosing to stay in town because she sensed something wasn't right with the woman raising her son as her own. Not only do people have no memories, but they also haven't aged a day, which is why Snow White and Emma are now about the same age... the same age like all fairytale characters were in the Enchanted Forest just before the curse swept them away to our world. As for the Evil Queen's happy ending... she cast this curse over the heroes for a reason yet to be revealed, but she wants everyone to suffer, while she's happy in the knowledge that they are all separated from their loved ones and miserable. She has all of her memories intact from the her previous life in the Enchanted Forest, which is foreshadowed when she stands in front of her mirror while holding the storybook. She's the town Mayor and has complete control over everyone because everyone's afraid of her. Afraid to defy and stand up to her. I love Emma and the storyline with her being everyone's Savior. I also love Snow White, Prince Charming, Regina the Evil Queen, and of course Rumplestiltskin... otherwise known as Mr. Gold in Storybrooke. He's so creepy and brilliant! And Henry is adorable. I loved seeing the rest of the characters shown so far in Storybrooke as well. My favorite scenes in this episode... I loved the opening scene where Prince Charming gives Snow White True Love's Kiss in order to wake her from the Evil Queen's poison from the apple. And I love the curse coming and sweeping over the entire kingdom as the Evil Queen boasts to Snow White about how she won and that the only happy ending would be her own, until Snow proclaims that Emma will one day find them and defeat the curse and therefore the Evil Queen herself. Your journey into this show has just begun again, and I can't wait for you to watch and react to more. I think you will absolutely continue to love Once Upon a Time. At least... I do hope you will.
